For the launch of six consecutive fashion seasons, The Red Republic has worked with Westfield Chermside to put on an exclusive media event.
2010 saw The Red Republic, think outside the box and create the concept of “Project Be Styled” which involved the search for a talented individual in both the fashion styling and fashion photography arenas.
After two hugely successful events, The Red Republic decided to take the concept to the next level. Still keen to keep to the theme of supporting up and coming Queensland talent, The Red Republic decided it was time to bring ‘teamwork’ into the lens. It was this idea that saw Westfield Chermside launch “Project Be Styled: Fashion Entourage” – a competition to find Brisbane’s hottest makeup artist/fashion photographer team.
Following on from the success of previous seasons, the announcement of Project Be Styled III generated an excited buzz within the Brisbane creative industry. Westfield Chermside was inundated with more entries than ever before, and was faced with the difficult task of narrowing it down to just a small number finalist teams.
Four teams were chosen to go through to the final round of the competition where they were given the opportunity to work with a professional fashion stylist and two models.
With half a day to work with, the teams were faced with the challenge of interpreting one of Westfield’s key Autumn Winter trends to create a portfolio of four images.
From the announcement of the competition to the profiling of the finalists, release of the final images, socials and editorial on the winner – The Red Republic generated a total of over 20 media hits including 2 Sunday Mail double page spreads and two Quest Newspaper covers.
Coverage for this event also included editorials in mX, Courier Mail, Brisbane News, Brisbane Times, Sydney Morning Herald Online, Northside Chronicle, Southern Star, South West News, Springfield News, South East Advertiser, Ipswich News, City South News, Giacomo and Bats Magazine.
