When I first joined Blue by Red PR I learnt they take strategic planning one step backward in order to move forward.

Red PR has created, the quite frankly brilliant, Discovery Workshop. Unlike most workshops I’ve attended, this one is really interactive with tons of creative ideas flying around the boardroom. The Discovery Workshop works with a company to define their key messages, business and communications goals, positioning within their industry, target audience and communication ideas to name just a few objectives.

So before moving forward with a campaign plan, the workshop actually establishes which direction the company should be moving in and what the strategy should be communicating to the target audience.

You’d expect that team members from the same company would all be on the same page when it comes to knowing what key messages they are communicating to their customers, right? Well apparently not always. I’ve been part of Discovery Workshops where company attendees have previously been communicating a mix of different messages to their audience.

That’s the beauty of this workshop – it takes through logical stages of discovery which ultimately unites the communications direction of your business, forming a foundation for future strategies.

Your company can have the most sensational product or service, but if you’re sending out the wrong key messages, you have no idea where it’s going or how it’s going to get there your audience and promise to the market is going to be lost.
