The show brings to town all the latest in boating luxury, water sports, nautical fashion and accessories, and of course marine cuisine. A special feature of this year’s show will be the chance to take a stroll down memory lane, as boats from throughout the modern age go on display to commemorate the special 50th anniversary.
Our sources have also confirmed that celebrity chef Bart Beek is back by popular demand and will cook up a storm in the Club Marine demo kitchen, with recipes such as luscious Lamb Kebabs, Parmesan Chicken and tongue-tastic Cardamom and Ginger Pancotta! I know which stand I’ll be hanging out at in the hope of a few freebies.
As per previous years, there are a number of prizes to be won in the lead up to the show and the weekend itself, a Cruise Craft 530 Explorer will be given away in conjunction with the Courier Mail, along with a heap of other prizes.
Throughout August, fans of the Brisbane Boat Show Facebook page will have the chance to win free tickets and other great prizes from some of the exhibitors of the show. The boat show has also just teamed up with ourbrisbane.com and The Portal Hotel and is giving readers the chance to win one night’s stay at the boutique hotel AND free double passes to the show. Hurry though, as the competition ends on Thursday 17th August.
Show highlights, include a reversing challenge…I’ll be at the sidelines watching in admiration at this one, especially as I can’t even reverse a 3 door hatch back. Maybe I’ll even pick up some much needed tips. For the fishing fans there is the much anticipated Bream tournament! Up to a dozen teams of anglers will be aiming to land the $5,000 prize money and teams will be delivering their live catches directly to the fishing stage.
There is also heaps of stuff to keep the kids entertained, including a climbing wall, fishing simulator and the kid’s marine zone where they can learn the basic skills of fishing!
