And so, tasked with launching a new android app mobile ordering service by Domino’s, a brand known for its mischievous adverts and PR campaigns (check out the Domino’s Taste Police project we worked with them on last year) and with the new app’s tagline ‘Anywhere, Anytime’, Red PR really went to town!

The new Domino’s Pizza Android App makes ordering your next pizza delivery a breeze, allowing you to order, track and buy your order when you’re on the go. It even lets you know when your pizza’s been placed in the oven, so you can get the table set in preparation for the feast!

With the key elements of the app in mind, Red PR brainstormed potential event themes before deciding on a launch event which would take guests on a whirlwind tour of four popular Australian hotspots, all places where they could find themselves ordering their next Domino’s pizza ‘ anywhere anytime’.

As any seasoned traveller knows, you can’t get anywhere without your passport and so Red PR created passport invites, giving guests a taste for what was to follow.

On the day of the event, 7th September 2011, Red PR became set designers, turning the bare Luxe Studio space in Surry Hills into the Australian outback, the cosmopolitan Sydney CBD, a buzzing NRL stadium and the sunny Gold Coast.

To further communicate the theme of the event, Red PR sourced outfits for the wait and bar staff, dressing them up in life rescue outfits, sports gear, suits and Akubra’s, bringing each themed area to life and adding some fun to the event.

The event was well attended by Sydney’s key tech media, with several journalists tweeting about the Domino’s app live from the event.

But, as with any event, the best way to measure its success is through the reactions and feedback from guests and, judging by the picture evidence below, I think it’s safe to say they had a ball!
