Events are a great opportunity to connect with your key target and industry decision-makers – whether that’s stakeholders, the general public or key media personnel – an event will allow them to experience your brand first-hand, effectively communicating your key messages. They are even more important for businesses that operate predominantly online, with fewer bricks and mortar locations, and therefore fewer opportunities for customers to have a tangible brand experience.

It’s also a great way for your clients to personally meet consumers and journalists, allowing a valuable relationship to begin to form.

Recently we held an event for leading interiors online site TheHome, inviting 30 key media from national lifestyle publications and Sydney-based newsrooms to join TheHome CEO Alexandra Mills, stylists Marjorie Silva and Emma Blomfield for a beautiful, high-tea styled lunch. The event dubbed “TheHome Spring Launch” was a perfect opportunity to promote products available at TheHome in a Woodland, spring setting styled by TheHome’s talented team of stylists and buyers.

TheHome was launched in October 2012 and over the following months, curiosity within the lifestyle media had begun to grow about what this brand was, its authenticity and more importantly who was behind it. Timing was ripe to hold a media-focused event, and have key journalists engage with the brand on a personal level. They shared a beautiful lunch with TheHome CEO, Alexandra Mills, and TheHome team.

The results were incredible. Not only did journalists and bloggers interact with TheHome team, but also gained a true understanding of their commitment to interiors, sales and staying on top of the latest trends – in turn, providing beautiful, on-trend products to their customers. A face was put to the brand, trust was gained and relationships were formed. In the following weeks we enjoyed great coverage from Decorum, Build House Home, The Life Creative, Sydney Morning Herald, mX and more – all of who attended the event and were able to experience first-hand the talents of this team.

TheHome Spring Launch was, like many other events, a great opportunity for the brand. When deciding if your brand should hold an event or not, it’s important to remember these points:

  • It allows you to build a community
  • It increases your brand awarenes
  • It positions you as the go-to company

Best of luck – and remember, if you ever need a PR team to help you on your way – we’re here!
