As daring, free-spirited accessories rule the runway for SS10/11; attendees revelled in the gorgeous jewels on display, as they enjoyed the ultimate hands-on experience being dripped in diamonds, pearls and colourful gemstones with Frank Sinatra playing appropriately in the background.
With the expert McKinney’s staff on deck to lend a helping hand, guests were introduced in-depth to these two internationally acclaimed European designers, who despite using different materials, styles and techniques, both draw their inspiration from the beauty of natural landscapes.
Italian designer Marco Bicego’s works inspired many “Oos and Ahhs” from the crowd, with many commenting that his signature style of classic 18kt yellow, white and pink gold enhanced with pearls, semi-precious stones and individually cut diamonds perfectly complements the everyday luxury that embodies carefree Queensland style.
After a delicious lunch and several glasses of bubbly, guests were chauffeured back to their offices, where they arrived with heads a little lighter and handbags a little heavier, as they took home a little piece of McKinney’s with them.
