Do you know a man brave enough to wear bright red budgie smugglers in the Sydney CBD? Recently, to the delight of the Blue by Red PR team we have met quite a few.

Blue by Red PR have had the privilege of working with GIO and national charity Youngcare on the upcoming 2013 GIO Youngcare Budgie Bolt to be held in Sydney and Brisbane.

The Budgie Bolt is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event aimed at raising awareness of the issue of young Australians being forced to live in aged care facilities because they have no alternative.

Supported by personalities such as Gus Worland and Reuben Mourad, the Budgie Bolt has already been attracting much attention in the media in the Sydney CBD. We have seen men from GIO run through Martin Place for mX, Gus Worland stripping down to his Budgies with the support of the MMM Grill team and Reuben Mourad from Channel Ten very bravely donning his Budgie Smugglers with the incredible Emily Dash for photos for the Daily Telegraph.

Each of the brave supporters we have been working with admit that whilst they are being forced into an uncomfortable and confronting situation by wearing their budgies in the city, it is nothing compared to how a young person forced to live in aged care home must feel.

Our team is very excited to be part of the 2013 Budgie Bolt and look forward to meeting more of the brave men who are daring enough to be smuggling budgies to participate.

If you wish to register for the budgie bolt, further information can be found at www.budgiebolt.com
